In a brilliant spot for my last bottle of our first vintage working with Tobias. Stunning nose of herbs, sweet mid season red cherries, cinnamon, tree bark, soil tones, slate toned and so subtle yet complex. Haunting. Palate is elegant, sweet, supple and so fresh. Well balanced and juicy with so many crunchy mid season cherries. Super pure. Terrific mouthfeel and so compact. Sweet and mineral. Velvety, ripe and sweet tannins. Just wonderful. 9.4 now but likely will be a 9.5.

Nov 22nd, 2021Whoah. What a nose. This is wide open. Gorgeous nose. Big berry fruit, deep, layered, floral, so voluminous. Tree bark, spices. Wow. Gorgeously elegant palate with lovely freshness and a sleek tannic structure. Insane purity and depth. So elegant and fine. Wonderful.

May 7th, 2019Closed shut but the core of fruit was incredibly sophisticated. Did not open up except very slowly. Like a glacier melting in just above freezing weather. Acid was high but the core of fruit is very special. Wait 5 years.

A Coravin sample was used to test this wine. AND? I will buy the 16 just to see were this producer will go. Elegant and mostly raspberry driven. Chalky. I get orange 🍊 rind on the back palate. Tightly coiled right now and hard to judge. Needs time. Revisit in a couple of years or so. Unfortunately rare and highly allocated. From Lyle Fass.

Very tight cherry fruits, needs years...
96hr Update: Raspberry/Cherry skin cola, light oak, very clean palate, med/short finish. Note to future self, next bottle in 4-5+ years...needs concentration.

Under the wax capsule cork was leaking. Fully saturated and soft. Wine is tired. Not off, but lacking depth and freshness.

Needs a 2 hour decant. Do not drink if you don’t have that.
Nose is crushed lilacs. Amazing. A hint of old great burgundy. Some game after 2.5 hours.
Palate is sour cherries and cranberries. Spice. Licorice. So dense. Texture is gorgeous. A crazy mutant love child of volnay and gevry.
Long kinky finish of dense spice and licorice. Wow.

.. at 3 hours this is a “tee hee” wine. So delicious. You’re like laughing at the price. So mouth coating. So delicious. Sick ass finish that busts blasts the palate and makes it almost vibrate.
