Pulido-Walker

Panek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Delicious wine. Probably a lot more to say but this was just very good with maybe 30 mins of air and then drank over 2 hours. Softened and became more elegant with solid fruit over time. — 2 months ago

Cristal Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir Blend 2009

Lemon yellow . Quite restrained and elegant, fine bubbles , white flowers , slightly more yellow fruits , buttered bread , pastry . On the palate , crystallised fruits , ginger , mineral , quite taut mouth feel . Lemon peel , grapefruit, touch of honey . Good acidity and mineral , chalky , steely finish . Still showing quite young , with excellent focus and good length . Drink now and over the next 10 years — 4 months ago

Château Guiraud

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2009

2009 vintage ( half bottle). Looks more evolved than the 2010 tasted alongside. But it is also much more complex. Intense perfume showing an abundance of noble rot, with roasted nuts, pineapple, honey, and a hint of thyme. Concentrated and layered, perfectly balanced and very long. Seems to be a notch above the 2010 today — 25 days ago

Le Mont Sec Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2010

9.1

On the nose the fruits have taken a back seat to honey, dried hay, lightly roasted nut, and flinty minerals. The palate is intense and viscous with complex tastes of bruised apple, apricot, lime, honeysuckle, and honey. Sharp acidity is a bit aggressive at times, but countered by hint of sweetness. Saline long finish.
Very good, but a bit below my expectation. Not sure it will continue to improve after 14 years.

Château Rieussec

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2016

Terrific example of a high quality Sauternes with lemon zest, peach, apricot and pineapple plus dried apricot, honey, beeswax, saffron, ginger, vanilla and butterscotch. Excellent acidity to balance the restrained sweetness of the wine. Still young with plenty of room to develop. — 5 months ago
