Vintage 2019 | old vines cuvée | my winesociety friends made a deep dive in Grüner Veltliner thanks to @Rob van Kalmthout. The over all quality was very high. I smelled pear and almonds in the smell, also minerality. Very intens. A beautiful taste with beautiful acidity and nice bitters in de aftertaste. — a year ago

Fantastischer Riesling von der Saar — 5 years ago
The perfect mix of lemon curd, young mango, sour apple, hazelnut, and yellow florals greet the senses as the 2009 Van Volxem Volz Riesling unfolds in the glass. It’s soft and pliant, yet also full of so much citrus and mineral driven tension, with a textural richness that excites the senses. Sweet spices and inner florals slowly taper off through the long and dramatic finish. — 6 years ago

This wine made me want to improve my command of wine words so I could say more nice things about it. — a year ago

What a nose. Piercingly mineral with loads of lemon oil, citrus oil, some green melon, some wild mint, some pink sweet grapefruit. Expansive minerality. Wow, so elegant, huge acids, super juicy and loads of sweet citrus. Tangelo, pink grapefruit and blood orange. Finish is clipped which is to be expected on PNP. Wow this is piquant and has massive concentration. Will be back as this airs out. As this airs out the complexity and linearity are off the charts. Stunning purity and depth. This is Riesling carved from a diamond. Wow the nose has insane citrus complexity now. Sea air of minerality. Sick! Palate is getting more round and candied. But retains acid and lightning! Incredible detail and harmony as this airs and super vivid blood orange and an epic finish. — 3 years ago
Vintage 2010 | last year our Brabantse Wine Society wine friends @Eric Hoepelman @Willem Jan Withagen @Rob van Kalmthout @Martijn went to the worldchampionship blindtasting and visited Mouton R. This year they are so kind to share experiences with @Berry Marinussen @Liselotte Brouwers Maarten Drop and myself who will attend this year in Jura. This was one of the beautiful wines in the line up — 10 months ago
Here’s an odd bird- not “affable” as one reviewer put it. Makes you work to appreciate its charms, which I appreciate. On nose peach pit & pear skin; On palate core minerality and notes of Anjou pear skin, hearts of palm, and unsweetened white fruits. An inviting mouthfeel, & pitched perfectly btw acid & RS. — 2 years ago

Round, viscous, low acidity and a sweetish mouthfeel. Still very much alive, generous and convincing at age 17. — 3 months ago
