Electric. So so electric. Floral, stones, minerals, some light white almond slices, wet rocks, so stoney. But pure and chiseled. Palate is terrific. Dense, chewy and my god the acid on this is majestic. Nimble and pure with such purity and length. Lemons are pretty much the only fruit but the minerals crush you. So elegant and textured, yet dynamic and massive. Really a wine of contrasts wherein the intrigue lies. What aromas. Best Roches Neuves white since 13 Clos Romans but this might be better. Thierry has always said ultimately this wine would be better than Clos Romans when the vines got old enough. I think 18 is first vintage where this is true. An unreal wine. — 6 years ago

A handful of forest berries recall a late summer hike in the northwoods. I can’t decide if its earthiness is dusty seasonal road or cold gray river stone. Perhaps equal measures of both. Then there are those hints of alpine milk chocolate and crispy hay. I like it best as a single ingredient cocktail. — 8 years ago
Generally not a big fan of cabernet franc, but this was recommended to me as an especially good example. Glad I tried it. Not heavy, but distinct notes of fruit and earth/leather. Really good abd sophisticated, especially at this price ($28 I think). Recommended by Lower Falls Wine Shop in Wellesley, MA. — 2 months ago

— 8 years ago

Beautifully expressive Cabernet Franc nose of red currant, sour cherry, cassis, moss, lavender, thyme and an enormous amount of rosemary. The palate initially offers glorious, creamy red fruit, excellent purity, freshness and ripe, melting tannins, with remarkable precision for 2018. That first open-bottle preview is seductive, but air brings a firmer, chewier and more tannic structure, while a small alcoholic seam becomes increasingly pronounced. Still juicy, vibrant and unmistakably Cabernet Franc, but less seamless than the opening suggested.
Day two is the better showing. The nose is deeper, with more cassis and the same nervous herbal energy. The palate has rounded out, gaining a touch of opulence and a gorgeous creamy texture, while the alcohol has largely integrated and the balance is now excellent. Beautiful wine. — 3 days ago
