This wine was lost in my cellar for a couple of years until I found it a few days ago. As a 2016 I probably would have drunk this a year or two ago. Now at 9 years of age it is a wonderful Chardonnay with more complexity and intensity. More on the citric than stone fruit side. A good example of mature Yarra Valley Chardonnay. — 18 days ago

See 4 previous notes on Delectable for the 2015 Primavera. This is my last bottle. The whole bunch stalky elements have toned down in the last few years. More balanced with the red fruits. Perhaps that was Steve Flamsteed’s plan and it needed to be cellared for at least 9 years.? — 7 months ago

A well made reliable tasty Yarra Valley Chardonnay. More citrus than stone fruit. Good concentration and a clean crisp finish with good persistence and length. — 8 months ago

Mealy, brioche, mixed with fresh lemon and slate. Perfect balance of steely mineral, lemon sweetness, and buttery brioche. Wombat creek has been my favourite single vineyard Giant Steps a few times. This is outstanding. A complete wine. — 3 years ago

My last bottle of 2015 Applejack Pinot Noir. Sweet red fruits - lacked the complexity I was expecting at 10 years of age. The following night more savoury, earthy, mushroom like notes making the wine more complex and delicious. My early notes years ago, showing overt whole bunch influence have integrated into the overall wine. — 2 months ago

Brief notes. Sweet red fruits - raspberry and strawberry. Whole bunch influence. An excellent Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with a proven track record but at the end of the day Applejack Vineyard is marginally in front of Sexton Vineyard IMO. — 8 months ago

This is such an incredibly good Pinot noir - starting to get a touch of brick in the rim, it has pronounced aroma of cherry, violet, dried rose petal, orange zest, black cherry, wild strawberries, forest floor, and wild thyme (an unexpected garrigue-like note). Great finesse and elegance with the acidity giving a lean edge to the flavors and a terrifically long finish. A real tour de force of skill in the cellar. It will be good for another few years but drinking really well right now. — 2 years ago
