Nose is a lovely cherry perfume. Sour cherry. As this opens it gets chambollly. 9.5 nose. Really gorgeous.
Palate is Bright cherry. A hint of green pepper and rubber. Savory. My guess is that this is still young. As this aerates it gets richer and richer.
This could be quite good in 3 years. Good to very good 1er cru burgundy. Which given the price is quite a deal.

The former Rotwein is now called “Slate Red” and it’s fantastic. German Pinot Glou Glou. Candied cherries, some citrus notes, spice, earthy slate tones. Gorgeous high toned aromas. But deep and focused. Smells like $30 wine. But it’s not! Palate is terrific. Huge fruit, loads of energy and purity. Mid season perfectly ripened cherries and lovely freshness. Barely there tannins and lovely sweetness. What a value! — 10 months ago
Aufgeschraubt und von toller Frische, Frucht und feiner Säure, Rest einen Tag später getrunken, da war leider nix mehr — a month ago
Fresh, creamy, almost like a lemongrass lavender candle. Interesting.
Good carbonation. Good sweetness. Good fruit and acidity. Nice and off dry. The kicker that really rounds out a Riesling for me is not just it’s fresh, herb quality, but umami. I think the savoriness in wonderfully working Rieslings is often underrated or overlooked. We’ve got a bit of it here, which rounds out the experience nicely. — 9 months ago
Sick. Just insane. More soon.
Nose is just boss. Ages elements. Aged honey, pastry shell, citrus rind, citrusy flashiness, super mineral as well and such a great imprint of Goldtropfchen happening. Gorgeous nose. Palate is beyond electric as this is 2010 and it has that lighting and thunder acidity. Insane purity and much more youthful on palate that nose will tell you. Wow. This is super super sick. Very very pure and very very deep and super long. Brilliant and has 20+ more years ahead of it. Wow.z — a year ago
Needs 15 minutes to get going but oh man when it does. Gorgeous mid season cherry, slate, minerals, spices, deep ethereal aromas. Heavenly. Wood spice. Palate is at once creamy and ripe and also teeming with energy and freshness. Superb cut and precision and velvety almost fully resolved velvety and ripe tannins. Drinking so well. I’d get started on these as this will not get better than it is today. — 7 months ago
Not super complex but refreshing. Darker than I expected, in ripeness and on the nose. There’s some blood orange and forest floor and lots of bruised ripe cherries. Slight bit of leather. Blood orange again, vanilla, and pine on the finish. It’s cherry season out there so if everyone wants to keep talking about cherries, go out and follow them throughout the season and cycles of ripeness. There’s some soft but present, fairly fine-grained tannins and a grey stream mineral finish. — 9 months ago
Clean, mineral, delicious and straightforward Riesling at a reasonable price. Dry with a nice acidity. — a year ago
