Really excellent and well balanced blend, dry, refreshing, perfect with fish, chicken, many other dishes and on its own. Excellent value. — 3 days ago
Bright, rich gold, almost pungent nose of fresh pineapples and apricots. There is acidity on the nose, intense flavour on the palate. Vanilla, caramel but still slightly tropical. — 7 days ago
A Chenin unicorn that flys off any wine list it finds itself on. In this case, 86d out of only 6 bottles received by Per Se. The nose is what is most captivating. So unique. It’s a bit less reductive and perhaps more exotic than the Noels de Montbenault of the same vintage. It’s layered with flavors of ginger, Leflaive-like sesame, dried apricots, sour apple and salted hazelnuts. There is good richness and a wild texture that’s balanced by fine acidity. A delicious Chenin that I wish there was more of! — 2 days ago
Another surprise of a humble white still alive and dancing after 17 years. Nice deep yellow color and attractive nose of beer mature white fruits with good acidic and balance on palate and finish. Great with the scallops and Amah beat balls. 40% Colombard 30 Ugni Blanc 30 Gros Manseng 11.5 ABV. Unusual and interesting with such age. — 10 days ago
Excellent wine and Greta price. Lighter and fruity, pairs well with anything. Merlot forward blend with cab sauv and cab franc. Would please a variety of people — 9 days ago
Stefan Dolhain
2004 vintage. At the time this estate was owned by Belgian Pierre Speyer who sold it in 2013. Hecate (named after the Goddess of witchcraft and necromancy in Greek mythology) is the top wine of the estate, 100% Tannat from the oldest vines. Smells like vintage port with sweet blackberry fruit and flowers. Powerful, with still a lot of jammy fruit, a shipload of mouth coating but well-integrated tannin and a sweetness that suggests some residual sugar (which maybe keeps the tannins in check). A take no prisoners Madiran that might not be for everyone, but at least it has a strong personality. Abv. 14,5%. — a day ago
