Nose has blackberry jam spread on older, tanned leather, under-ripe cherry, green CT Valley tobacco, ripe blueberry, whole vanilla bean and wet soil.
Palate has dried blackberry, ripe black cherry, slight oak barrel notes, unsweetened blueberry jam with just a touch of (alcohol, only 13.3%) heat on a long, satisfying finish. Tannins are mostly resolved, can hold this bottle until a 30th birthday under proper storage conditions, but our last bottle.
Beautiful wine, fantastically paired with a Belgian-style beef stew over top of Parmesan polenta. — 5 days ago
Color of ruby with burgundy, quite clear. Nose of fermented cabbage, vanilla, and black tea. Taste is smooth with sweetness, tea flavors, vanilla, sweet blueberry and grape, good acidity, and a bit mineral. Aftertaste is medium short with some light sweet and zest note. On par. — 8 days ago
Bea & Nothingness? No nausea here, just funky & beautifully structured blend of Sangiovese, montepulciano d’abruzzo, & sagrantino. 3 hour decant. Fascinating nose of balsa wood, cherry, herbs, barnyard. Palate is a shapeshifter, White pepper, violet, cherry, acidic undergirding and a pummeling tannic finish. Drink now with a decant or hold for a decade or more. Believe the hype. — 4 days ago
Beautifully aged, smooth, succulent, with green apple and an almost honied texture, while retaining balanced acidity. — 5 days ago
Much better than a prior flawed bottle. Fresh cranberry and pomegranate with warm spices. Classic california cool climate Pinot. Drink em if you got em, this is very good and I don’t think it will improve from more age. — 11 days ago
I enjoy an easy going IPA. At 7% is will creep up up on you. It is a lighter style IPA that is easy drink, with a great finish. Have to try anything that comes out of my favorite SF brewery. — 10 days ago
