Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2021 pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruits: blackberries, dark cherry, plums, purple flowers, cocoa, organic earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. 2019 vintage. The durty/lean side of Côte-Rôtie. Medium-bodied. Less fruit, more earth/dust. Tasted it 5 hours later after just sticking the cork back in at 3:15pm. Nose: utterly explosive. Lemon peel. Lemon oil. Stony. Blasty white flowers.
Palate: sweet lemon. Mineral. Acidic blast. Delicious.
$30ish.
Blind this is Grand cru. Is has the density. The complexity. Better than most grand crus.
