This was a bargain-priced (for Volnay) “mystery” purchase from Garagiste a couple of years ago and it’s really nice. Nose is lively and elegant, with sappy cherry and crushed Burgundian stony earth, with a bit of graham-cracker spice. The palate is softly-textured (yay, Volnay!) and the balance between dark, sweet cherry and crushed rock is 50/50. Very elegant. — 7 months ago
This is surprisingly good! Nose screams Pinot from the Cote de Beaune. Sappy, sultry cherry, spice, moist limestoney loam. Soft textured and focused in the mouth. Good ripeness and zingy acids. Just enough super-soft tannin to provide some structure. Nice length. Terrific value (two words you don’t often hear when a Burgundy is the subject). — 2 years ago
So so so good. 100% meunier. — 4 months ago
A good champagne. Drank kind of… young? Balanced but not graceful, hefty but a little too eager. All of the flavor was BOOM, right up front, and it was more green apple rind than anything. Good - maybe not my thing. — 3 years ago
Natural champagne. Fresh and citrus crispy. Elegancy. @2000, Fruiti, 231216 — 5 months ago
