Drinking beautifully at 20 years of age. Gorgeous fruit and subtle spice. Lovely prelude to a trip to the East Coast of Tassie! — 4 years ago
Medium ruby color with a slight rose colored meniscus. Aromas of violets, granite dust and a bit of red fruit. Flavors of iron, black pepper spice and very muted black raspberry/blackberry fruit. Medium finish and very soft tannins. Abundant acidity and quite lean. Not very complex. Pretty underwhelming. Even with aeration, bolder flavors just could not be coaxed out. Quite tight, closed and restrained right out of the bottle. On the second day,a bit more fruit and complexity did come forward. Even more so on the third day. — 3 months ago
A fantastic bottle of Chablis-adjacent, just great a year since our last bottle. Please see prior notes on the vintage. (A touch more salty than before, but doing fine.)
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor Karina Canellakis is leading WAGNER (Prelude to Lohengrin, Act 1), CHOPIN (Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Opus 21) with one of our local treasures, Emanuel (Manny!) Ax on piano and then RACHMANINOFF (Symphonic Dances, Opus 45). A fantastic night is ahead of us! — 4 years ago

Unscrew and pour yesterday. Noted from 24 hrs open. Fantastic PQR. Lovely meyer lemon and soft mango notes, some oak-influenced vanilla, but very stylish. On the palate: lovely acidity, soft slate, good density and a juicy finish. At the garagiste price of about 27 bucks, this is leaning in the case buy direction. Yum. — 4 years ago

2018 vintage. Very fine-grained tannins, good mix of fruit and earthier notes. Fresh blackberry, black cherry, cassis, black plum, decaying leaves, leather, cedar, a little fluffy, yeasty bit I could do without, stale sage, stale allspice. Much more Bordelais than Barossa. — 4 years ago
Crisp acidity and nice fruit that pairs perfectly with spicy food. — 5 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Second wine of classed growth Grand-Puy Ducasse. Blend 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, has Merlot that did not make the cut for the top wine. Deep Ruby red color, with aromas of ripe dark fruits, spice and herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and cinnamon spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, smoky spice and earthy mineral character. Good now! — 3 months ago
