A gorgeous open knit wine. Soft edges of cherry and play dough and a deep cote of intense fruit with iron, dark plum. On the palate there’s blueberry and a s steeled minerality- the tannins are resolved and this is super intense and delicious with a beautiful balance. Long. Really good — 2 years ago

Among the best Tignanello offerings to date, rivaling the '97. In fact , time will tell but it might rival the last 3 acclaimed vintages. Leather, licorice, and smoke in a larger than normal from this maker. Full with long lovely finish. — 3 years ago

Decanted for three hours and immediately described as “universally appealing”, this is not only the WOTN but my WOTY. Utterly perfect, except perhaps enjoyed ever-so-slightly too soon. Remarkable winemaking. Concentrated flavour profile of cherry, strawberry, chocolate, violets, and very minimal earthy tones. Still on the upswing and not fully mature, despite the pleasure it was. Medium plus body, medium acidity. Extremely long. Possibly the best wine I’ve tasted to date. Can’t wait to try a “good” year. — 6 years ago
