This surprised me. Very balanced and plenty of fruit (and life) left here. The baby fat and oak have been shed away showing more pure and ripe blackberries, black cherries and cherry tobacco. Espresso beans with dark cocoa followed by cedar and herbal notes toward the finish. Acidity and tannins keep structure really solid here. Impressed. — 16 days ago

The 2017 Lingua Franca ‘Bunker Hill’ Chardonnay is a terrific new release wine by this talented winemaking team. The nose evokes toasty brioche with wild mushroom and green apple that all combine in the glass. The palate unveils a silky texture and a bright minerality. Kumquat, green papaya and shades of white truffle with earthy undertones round out this outstanding flavor range. This finishes exceedingly long with lemon cream and minerals. Highly Burgundian and downright thrilling now, this highly nuisanced Chardonnay will cellar well for a decade or more. Drink 2019-2032- 94 — 8 days ago

This is a nice surprise. A nicely aged Pinot Noir from Oregon. Had it blind and called it right, except for the vintage as it felt much younger.
This Single Vineyard is showing red fruits with earth notes dark chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, red candy and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.
Not my style, but if you are serious about Pinot Noir, this is a great one for you.

The first vintage SH produced a Cabernet Sauvignon and it is rare to find a Napa Cab that is made in this Bordeaux style any more. 13.5% abv and very lean with beautiful red fruit on the nose and finish. Started to exhibit some secondary earth notes of forest floor and wet stone but a very enjoyable bottle and well worth the wait. Picked up right after bottling during our visit to the property. Kind of wish more Napa Cabs still had this style as you can have a couple of bottles and still function the next day... — 16 days ago
