Cardiac Hill Bennett Valley Syrah

TRB made Syrah. On the richer side of the spectrum but nicely balances big red fruits with medium acidity and some still present tannin. Secondary development is starting to show, but the wine morphs over 30 minutes and puts on weight as the red fruits continue to grow. This has 5+ more years until peak. — 3 hours ago

Springs Hill Series Sparks Grenache 2015

Loved this, pulled from the cellar at the Crafers Hotel, SA. Last drink before going dry Feb. Paired with duck. Darker fruited with a bit more heft from some Syrah mixed in. Earthy, mild spice, dense, very whole bunch giving a gorgeous savoury tannic finish. Great food match. — 20 days ago

The first sip hits you with sweetness, but after that it’s a smooth, faintly dry wine with a good strawberry flavor. This Rose’ is a summer and Girl’s Night Out must have! — 12 days ago

Jackass Hill Zinfandel 2017

Love the nose, like opening a strawberry preserves jar. Continues on the mouth with more dark berries and finishes smoothe for a 16.7%. — 12 days ago

Carlton Hill Pinot Noir 2008

Still closed. took about an hour to open up somewhat. Feel like the 2008s still have a lot of life left in them. Brooding wines. — 18 days ago

Foley Johnson

Chalk Hill Chardonnay 2017

A real good $20 Chard! Chalk Hill winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded Chalk Hill in 1972. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone, tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on medium+ finish ending with oak and mineral notes. A favorite. Bar Taste!! — 2 days ago

Estate El Dorado Mourvedre 2015

Nice red wine color. Ruby and purple. Smells deep with plenty of soil and fruits in the mix. Flavor leans towards classic CA red. Full body. Rich. Dry (meaning pretty hearty tannins). This is a wine for wine critics to ponder and enjoy. They are the ones to decide if it really is Mourvèdre Classique. — 8 days ago
