Deep Ruby in colour - very dark for a 15 year old red with no bricking at this stage. Blackberry and chocolate with ripe black fruits on nose and palate - not as pruney as previous Stonewell notes. Lush and full bodied from selected old vine Shiraz vineyards in the Barossa - in the Greenock district amongst others. This is Barossa Shiraz at its best from a good vintage. Hard not to like - warm and comforting - perfect for a cooler night with pork chops. — 4 days ago
A friend said he would bring a Peter Michael red,so I thought it would be fun to bring a white.
The opening nose is predominantly citrus and jasmine, not the ripe stone fruits I was expecting. Golden apple, pear, roasted nuts, and hint of brioche followed as it opened up in the glass. Viscous but not heavy on the palate with well judged acidity. Beautiful balance between richness and delicacy. Long mineral driven finish.

High acid, pineapple and lemon/lime curd, medium weight and tart. Lambertskirch is Lauer’s newest vineyard. Really nice fruit and soaring acidity, but lacks the mineral backbone that his other wines have. — a month ago
Nice. But on the sweet side. — a month ago
My note of 49 weeks ago tells the full story of this historic vineyard planted in 1885 and tended by 6th generation Ralph Schrapel. Part of the Peter Lehmann VSV (Very Special Vineyard) series. This wine is delicious old school Barossa with ripe plum, dark chocolate, cherry, liquorice and coffee grounds. A hint of prune on the nose. Great to be drinking these rich reds as the weather cools down. This vineyard is in the Ebenezer sub district of the Barossa. My last bottle sadly. — 11 days ago
Mesmerizing nose of blackcurrant, creme de cassis, violet, cedar, fresh orange peel, cured meat, and forest floor. Gentle and soft on the entry, with parade of flavors echoing the nose. The full body feels deceivingly weightless on the palate, but with great energy and precision. Velvety tannins. The finish lasts for minutes.
Seamless and elegant. Outstanding already at its young age. — 2 days ago
