Solid Sangiovese in a very strong price point. I have bought these wines from Sassetti for decades. — 8 months ago
So good for the money. Good tannin, darker fruit. — 8 years ago
Hell yes. Delicate, balanced big refreshing bubbles for summer. This Italian sparkler from the Veneto is comes from master Barolo-maker Livio Sassetti as part of his war against over-sulfured Italian bubbles. Pink pomegranate, candied tangerine peel and guava notes with a hint of plum - from the Merlot, no doubt. Elegant, zesty and flamboyant with an in-your-face creamy finish. Extra-dry spumante, like extra-dry Champagne, is in the range we call "off-dry" in absolute terms. For reference, wine that is still in the absolute dry category can have up to 9 grams of residual sugar; this wine has 12; cocacola clocks in at 110. — 9 years ago

Salvia, dusty, black cherry. Lifted, fine, persistent minerality. Estate is situated just above Pertimali, and the young proprietors work for Sassetti. Pure class, as you’d imagine in such a situation. Fantastic! #cerbaia #rossodimontalcino #sangiovesegrosso — 8 years ago

Medium ruby color with a slight orange rim. Aromas of red fruit, leather, forest floor, orange zest and smokey oak. Flavors of red and black cherries and plums, tobacco, porcini mushrooms, black licorice, black olives and earthy spices. Long and expressive finish. Bold acidity and chewy tannins. Full bodied and incredibly well balanced. So complex and concentrated. Thanks to Petey and Kase for this Welcome to Cape May 2026 Vacation wine! — 5 days ago
