Hell yes. Delicate, balanced big refreshing bubbles for summer. This Italian sparkler from the Veneto is comes from master Barolo-maker Livio Sassetti as part of his war against over-sulfured Italian bubbles. Pink pomegranate, candied tangerine peel and guava notes with a hint of plum - from the Merlot, no doubt. Elegant, zesty and flamboyant with an in-your-face creamy finish. Extra-dry spumante, like extra-dry Champagne, is in the range we call "off-dry" in absolute terms. For reference, wine that is still in the absolute dry category can have up to 9 grams of residual sugar; this wine has 12; cocacola clocks in at 110. — 7 years ago
