Pertimali (Livio Sassetti)

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Still young. First intro to this producer. 1 hour decant. Hour 3 started showing its best. Bordeaux like nose, medium bodied, medium acidity, fresh red and black cherry fruit, tannic backbone. Very good, better in a few years. — a month ago

Pertimali Brunello di Montalcino 2013

Had several times. Medium Ruby with fragrant berry fruit, spice and floral notes. On the palate red berry flavors, spice, pepper, tangy feel. Fine tannins, medium+ savory finish ending with a tobacco, mushroom and mineral character. Nice! — 8 months ago

Cerbaia Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Salvia, dusty, black cherry. Lifted, fine, persistent minerality. Estate is situated just above Pertimali, and the young proprietors work for Sassetti. Pure class, as you’d imagine in such a situation. Fantastic! #cerbaia #rossodimontalcino #sangiovesegrosso — 3 years ago

Surprisingly good for a twenty year old Rosso. Cherries, red fruits, all mature and married to that old time earthiness. Perfect with homemade Philly cheesesteak. Need to try with homemade pizza from yesterday. — 3 months ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2011

Classic Brunello. Ripe plum, some oak and alcohol. Dusty tannins and medium acidity makes this ready out of the gate. — 3 years ago
