So good for the money. Good tannin, darker fruit. — 8 years ago
Hell yes. Delicate, balanced big refreshing bubbles for summer. This Italian sparkler from the Veneto is comes from master Barolo-maker Livio Sassetti as part of his war against over-sulfured Italian bubbles. Pink pomegranate, candied tangerine peel and guava notes with a hint of plum - from the Merlot, no doubt. Elegant, zesty and flamboyant with an in-your-face creamy finish. Extra-dry spumante, like extra-dry Champagne, is in the range we call "off-dry" in absolute terms. For reference, wine that is still in the absolute dry category can have up to 9 grams of residual sugar; this wine has 12; cocacola clocks in at 110. — 9 years ago

Surprised to find this, was CVed! Drinking great, shocking fresh and lifted profile, 27 years and it’s alive and kicking strong in a major way. It actually went well with Evan’s sushi bake of salmon and crab! Who’d guess! — 8 months ago
Salvia, dusty, black cherry. Lifted, fine, persistent minerality. Estate is situated just above Pertimali, and the young proprietors work for Sassetti. Pure class, as you’d imagine in such a situation. Fantastic! #cerbaia #rossodimontalcino #sangiovesegrosso — 8 years ago

Solid Sangiovese in a very strong price point. I have bought these wines from Sassetti for decades. — 5 months ago

A great find! Dark Ruby color, no hints of bricking. Nice red fruits, good acid, a bit of mushroom/forest floor. — 2 years ago

This bottle was right in the zone, compared to a very youthful bottle last year. Well balanced, soft and round. I would drink my other bottles in the coming two/three years. — 4 months ago
