The description: Chateau Pesquié Quintessence Rouge is a well-rounded blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes, grown in the scenic mountainside vineyards of Ventoux in the Rhone Valley. It boasts an intense ruby-red color and aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and spices, all of which are complemented by earthy and smoky undertones.
The opinion: Description accurate, but it needs a hunk of red meat or a rich duck sausage dish. It’s ok but better around for the value. — 3 months ago
Louis Bouillot – Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Millésimé 2018
AOC Crémant de Bourgogne – Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy, France 🇫🇷
Overview
From limestone- and chalk-rich soils in Burgundy’s Nuits-Saint-Georges, crafted in the méthode champenoise. 60% Chardonnay forms the base of this vintage blend and 40% Pinot Noir, offering a sparkling wine that mirrors Champagne’s finesse while carrying a Burgundian soul.
Aromas & Flavors
Fresh orchard fruit (apple, pear), lemon zest, brioche, and subtle minerality. Hints of almond and chalk elevate its elegance.
Mouthfeel
Crisp yet rounded, with fine persistent bubbles. A structured, creamy texture balanced by bright acidity.
Food Pairings
Excellent with oysters, scallops, or sushi. Also pairs beautifully with creamy cheeses like Brie or Comté.
Verdict
A superb Crémant, layered, refined, and capable of standing tall beside many Champagnes. A hidden gem for those seeking value without compromise in elegance.
Did You Know?
Crémant de Bourgogne is produced under strict regulations similar to Champagne, including secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees aging, yet often costs a fraction of the price.

Very nice Chateau! Get another case — 4 months ago
Wonderful Brut from the Bourgogne (Burgundy) region of France. Nice combination of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Taste of apple and mild citrus flavors. Sips well any time but also a great starter for Lunch/dinner. Great value! Frank October 2025 — 2 months ago

This is the Artemia Ventoux not the Quintessence….stellar southern Rhône, I can’t remember anything like this that’s not a CDP - deep dark inky color, sinus-clearing nose, palate is chewy, tannic but not overwhelming, I would have confused for a good cote rotie or rioja. Love it, can’t believe it’s a Ventoux. Actually started to get a bit earthy after being open awhile, I would *not* decant and just pop and drink! PJW says it’s all the vintage. Dunno. — 3 months ago

Thought all gone. Interesting take of Grenache and Syrah from Ventoux with a solid medium bodied still robust palate. Unfortunately it kinda overpowered the mixed menu of various eats. — 18 days ago
