Really nothing much more to add from my (and other Delectable users) previous notes about this incredible Chardonnay. Notes of pear, pineapple and cashew. Creamy on the palate. Simply put - a top shelf new world Chardonnay - now drinking at its peak. — 5 years ago

New world, old world. New world fruit, peach pear. Old world texture, oily wool. Well made. — 6 years ago

Top 5 2013 New World Chardonnay — 7 years ago
I have wanted to do Alban side by side with Rostaing with a well seasoned Tri-tip. Tonight is the night.
The crowd that leans California liked the French better.
I have always thought Alban in the new world mimicked Rostaing’s style.
Both phenomenal and I enjoyed both for slightly different climate & soil reasons.
These two producers do Syrah without the heavy smoked meats & bacon fat of say Cayuse. — 10 months ago
Balanced oak and vanilla Chardonnay. Enjoyable New World Chardonnay and a good food accompaniment. — 2 years ago
It's okay. Not a lot going on - sorta worth $7 on sale — 4 years ago
Sweet white. Very nice honey taste — 5 years ago
Pale to mid Lemon in colour. Initial notes of Vanilla Oak - a bit of leesy funk. Palate is medium plus intensity with some citrus and ripe grapefruit - generous with minerality and good length - a buttery note on the palate. An excellent new world Chardonnay from Oregon. This was Wine #2 in Wine Spectators Top 100 for 2016. — 6 years ago
I am enjoying sampling PN's from different regions...Central Otago offers some nice selections..as always vintage depending...but I have found the 2015's to be quite nice!
This wine is New World in style...damp earth..mushrooms..bing cherry..mild oak...nutmeg..cinnamon...mild acidity..presents with a decent long finish!
Revisiting this post vacuum pumped and put in the fridge...this has opened up even more...enjoying the earthiness of this wine! — 7 years ago

First New Zealand Pinot...really enjoyed it! Light body and finish, but very flavorful and a bit spicy. — 7 years ago
I bought this bottle in Florence around 2019. I later found out the shop was owned by Antinori - the producer of the wine. An excellent Super Tuscan from Bolgheri. 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Dark Ruby with a tawny rim starting to develop. Classic Bordeaux descriptors of Cassis, herbs, tobacco and hints of cocoa with oak totally integrated. A rich and mouth filling palate such that it could have been from a new world vineyard in a good vintage. This is comparable in quality to a good Super Second. Interestingly the 2007 had the major change of Syrah being eliminated from the blend in favour of Cabernet Franc. An outstanding Bordeaux blend which exceeded expectations. I should keep an eye out for more bottles. — a year ago
A lovely melding of Old World finesse and New World exuberance. Green apple, pear, white peach, ripe lemon oil, flint, acacia, and the barest hint of toasted brioche. Mouth watering acidity but not at the expense of texture. Long, beautifully ripe finish. Stunning. — 4 years ago

Excellent Chardonnay done in a new world style, but very elegant. Intense gold/green colour in the glass, floral, slightly smoky nose with a toasty palate that includes flavours of lemon meringue, pear, and a slightly saline finish. Paired with a hot smoked salmon, angel hair pasta dish. Solid. — 5 years ago

Rich and powerful. The nose features cassis, blueberry, cedar, and sweet spice, accentuated by incense, tobacco, and hint of dried flower. The lush and dense palate is ripe and concentrated but with good balance. The dusty tannins, though very polished, is still quite massive.
The 13’ is more akin to new world than old, and will benefit for at least additional 5 years of aging. — 6 years ago
very good 2001 aged surprisingly well for new world wine — 7 years ago
Very New World style. By the nose and palate, this one allost seemed to resemble a Malbec. I believe this is 100% Merlot. Decadent black and purple youthful fruit and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Entry is gritty, black and purple fruit with cocoa nibs and herbal character. Herbs carry to the middle where a baking spice note shows, but again this wind seems to have more of a dark purple and tarry black fruit background. Very weighted finish. Thick and inky. I think this could benefit from a few more years of bottle aging but drinking well now! — 7 years ago

Bob McDonald

Pale lemon in colour. Flinty/struck match notes on the nose - initially citrus and with time more stone fruit. The palate is rich and opulent with grapefruit and white peach sharing the spoils. I have had limited experience with Coddington but this was flat out delicious. The winemaker suggests a short window of 2-4 years (hard to see it being better than it is right now ), whereas pros like JR take it through to 2031. An exceptional new world Chardonnay. — 8 months ago
