Kumeu, Auckland, North Island, New Zealand

Pale lemon in colour. Flinty/struck match notes on the nose - initially citrus and with time more stone fruit. The palate is rich and opulent with grapefruit and white peach sharing the spoils. I have had limited experience with Coddington but this was flat out delicious. The winemaker suggests a short window of 2-4 years (hard to see it being better than it is right now ), whereas pros like JR take it through to 2031. An exceptional new world Chardonnay.

Burgundy from New Zealand but then for a fraction of the price. It has lemon/citrus fruits, stones, good acity and a nice round moutfeel. This acted as a cellar defender for my Mate's vineyard cuvee's of '18, '20 and'22 that I have laying down but I've been told that these benefit from a bit more age.

Elegant Chardonnay. Oaky Chardonnay but not buttery despite 100% malolactic fermentation. Typical Chardonnay crisp fruit and oak to start but finish is lemon and salt. Leave open at least 40 minutes before consuming.
