I am enjoying sampling PN's from different regions...Central Otago offers some nice selections..as always vintage depending...but I have found the 2015's to be quite nice!
This wine is New World in style...damp earth..mushrooms..bing cherry..mild oak...nutmeg..cinnamon...mild acidity..presents with a decent long finish!
Revisiting this post vacuum pumped and put in the fridge...this has opened up even more...enjoying the earthiness of this wine! — a month ago
Superb nose of cherry and earth and blood. Very intense! The palate is superb too with an exquisite balance between a delicious cherry juice and a long acid backbone. Slight tannins kick in in the end to mark a long finish with fruits and cherry moonlight notes. Once again foillard delivers big time in a more subtle, precise way than 14 and 15. It’s time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a tasty one from Knights Valley, California.
Deep purple in color (very dark) with a short purple rim.
On the nose blueberries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, light wood, earth, barnyard, light vegetables and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, blueberries, oak, light vanilla, spices, alcohol, peppercorn and dark coffee.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel.
This Single Vineyard is not fully balanced yet, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. I let it open for 3 hours, and it feels like it needs more time. Mid palate is still very tangy. Will be better in a few years.
Good by itself or with food. Tangy and spicy. I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in New French oak barrels for 22 months.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

I recently conducted an experiment...Wine.com 10% off of $99, an offering that does not present very often.
All wines needed to score 90 or above by Wine Spectator..except for the Burn Cottage PN all bottles were less than $20. My purchase... five bottles in total.
1). Burn Cottage Moonlight Race 2015. WS 91..
Most expensive $42.
2). Novellum Chardonnay 92 by JD..this was
Included to make the $99.
3). Innocent Bystander PN 2017. 92 by WS.
...will keep you posted on other two.
This wine is great for sub $20...blueberry...cherry..tea leaves.a soft herbal component and dried flowers or sage. This definitely beat the Burn Cottage in terms of complexity!
