Maurizio Castelli

La Marca di San Michele

CapoVolto Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2021

Structure is on point: high acidity, long finish, full mouthfeel. Flavors are a jumbled mess though. Bruised fruit is primary. Clean up some of that and this would be fire. — 4 months ago

Feudo Di San Maurizio

Valle d'Aosta Mayolet 2016

At nine years old, this may have been a touch past its prime, but it still drank pretty well. Dark fruit and tobacco were dominant on the nose and palate, with hints of earth, cinnamon, and pepper coming through as well. Would like to try a younger bottling sometime soon for comparison. 100% Mayolet. 5/5/25. — 6 months ago

Castelli del Grevepesa (Castelgreve)

Riserva Clemente VII Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2020

Licorice Snaps, Olive Temponade, cherry, raspberries, slate, strawberry jam! A lot in this glass on Pop n Pour. Vintage Chart indicates nowhere near ready to drink (I use as a light reference). I expect this to improve with age, definitely yummy now! — 4 months ago

@Dave Cheers! Wine Shops in QC! Nope, have had a few over the years. Never lasted! Before Costco I went to Iowa City for anything decent or ordered online!

Slightly effervescent, with dried apricots, honeysuckle.... superbly drinkable and a great accompaniment to watching YouTube videos about influencers. — 2 months ago
