My continuing quest to taste as many 22 Burgundies as possible…
The nose is a little dull, but shows beautiful, floral & slightly candied red fruits. Dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate syrup, raspberries and blueberry hues. Understated, dark, rich earth, very soft baking spices and dark, red, florals framed in violet potpourri.
The palate entry is wonderful. Ripe, juicy; dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate reduction, raspberries and blueberry hues. Understated, dark, rich earth, baking spices-cinnamon stick, clove, light nutmeg vanillin, sandalwood to light cedar shavings, caramel, touch of toffee, dry tree bark w/ a touch of moss covered in sap, red & mid berry licorice/cola, dark, the red, florals framed in amazing violets are exquisite, perfect acidity with an elegant, balanced finish that lasts nearly two-minute.
92+ with a bit more time. It just lacks more depth for a higher score. But hard not to drink now. Good value here at $59.99.

Bright and fruity with notes of cherry and a touch of minerality. — 8 years ago
I opened this two days ago and totally miscalled it. It just needed air. It has now blossomed into something elegant and pretty and floral and sweet and elementally burgundy. That fact that it took so long and still has ample tannin, acidity and body on a lithe frame makes me think I'm less stupid for having bought a half case of the stuff. for the record: I was wrong. Need to be more patient... — 9 years ago
Hadn’t tasted Audoin in many, many years, so I was genuinely curious to come back to him. This absolutely blew my mind. Incredible fruit purity, lifted and precise without getting precious, and probably the best Fixin I’ve ever had. One of those bottles that makes you sit up a little straighter and recalibrate the whole appellation. — 3 months ago
Cherries and blueberries. Went well with leftover duck. — 2 years ago
Love this for what it is. Drink it cold and enjoy. Burgundy is expensive, do yourself a favor and buy something a bit off the run. Thanks for the suggestion Brett Taylor. This is my Friday night go to — 4 years ago
Powerful dark fruit. A hefty Pinot, but not in a new world way. Maintains lift and freshness — 6 years ago
2002 vintage aged well. Smooth and fruity. — 6 years ago
Could be mistaken for a Mersault. Very precise and lifted nose. Discrete reduction. Juicy mid palate that is almost like a top condrieu. — 6 years ago
One of my favourite hidden gem BdB champagnes that I loved in 90 & 96 so excited to try the 02 @ £140 that was a generous gift 😍 Tied with string to hold the cork 👍
