Not so much evolution from the last btl. Need to be patient with the last btl. After 1 hr open, slow-ox, and vigorous swirling, a lovely nose slowly emerges: sweet, dark, dark, blackberry, soft charcoal and olive notes, and pure granitic minerality. On the palate: granite, fantastic acidity, sweet blackberry, grapefruit pith, perhaps a touch thinner than I would like, especially given the density the nose suggests, the finish is soft black pepper, mixed with chalky tannin. Still very much in the unfurling stage...maybe try to wait 5 more years for the next btl? — 12 days ago
Nose is all game, meat and feral St. Joseph aromas. So different than the stoney regular cuvee. Beautiful and classy. A step up. Florals and high toned and unreal, precise and expansive blackberry fruit. Gorgeous menthol and spice on the nose. Just intense and dizzying aromas. 9.5 aromas. Wow. What a palate. Insanely juicy and so deep with just terrific cut. This is a briliant new find. There is real substance and cut here. Awesome palate. Shows exceptional class and refinement. Terrific freshness and sweetness allied with insane granitic cut. Just so so long. This is a revelation. So so delicious. Big structure. This is a 20 year wine. Reminds me a bit of Fauterie st. Joseph Le combaud. Wow. As this airs out it gets more stoney and just so much more precise. So great. Unreal fruit and depth. Magical stuff. Keeps getting more elegant and defined.
Big time update. Amazing length, texture and grip. Takes over your mouth. Unreal fruit and purity. Just a masterpiece. Takes on so much more on day 2. 9.5 to 9.6.

So damn good. There is so much elite wine in St. Joseph. Nose is stunning, layered and complex. Like if Sozet made St. Joseph. Olive, gamey meats, mint, dead fresh leaves. Red and black berry fruit. So complex. Deep and ethereal. Amazing fruit intensity. Lipstick like intensity. Palate is masterful. Gorgeous purity, texture and balance. So so juicy and terrific finesse. Just so loosey goosey on the palate. So juicy. Wow. Awesome velvety tannins. Showing youthful, accessible exuberance. Just so good. To be classic, old school, playful and accessible is something. So so precise. This always gets better with air. 9.5 for now. As this airs it gets more structured and the tannins become more prominent but so does the freshness. Concentrated and so so sappy. — 17 days ago
About as elegant a style of Syrah as you can get. Complex nose has crumbly granite, Szechuan peppercorn, fire-charred beef, boysenberry fruit. Soft and mouthfilling flavors, with a beautiful balance between mineral, savory, and dark but not sweet fruit. Very soft texture and perfectly pitched acids. Terrific. — 18 days ago
Terrific granitic nose. Huge dark berry fruit. Very classy and a terrific sense of depth. Lipstick like intensity and great clarity. Lovely and vivid fruit. Chewy, dense and so juicy. Terrific and intense minerality. Perfect balance and so so clean. Nice hit of opulence on the mid palate but finishes so mineral. Terrific velvety tannins and awesome freshness. Very pure. Freshness and minerality is invigorating on the finish. Structure suggests 15+ years of aging. After air this gets so elegant and granitic. So fresh and linear.
9.3 to 9.4 overnight. What an upgrade! So complex and deep today. — 22 days ago
Amazing concentration of brambly fruit, but this has the acidity to keep it from feeling jammy or overextracted. Black and blue fruits on the nose and palate with a compelling violet/floral element on the finish. Personaly I could would have welcomed a bit more olive/smoked meat on the this wine but that might present itself with more bottle age. There was just the hint of olive tapenade lingering in the background. This wine is drinking beautifully right now but I think would reward you with more complexity after 5-10 years of bottle age. — 16 days ago
The NV Joseph Perrier ‘Blanc de Blancs’ Champagne includes 15% reserve wine and was aged on the lees for five years prior to disgorgement. Bright lemon zest and crushed seashells mingle with Gravenstein apple and shades of nutmeg infused sourdough bread all parade on this beautiful bouquet. The palate is fresh and vibrant with wonderful verve and a soft texture. Kumquat zest infused Challah bread and a bright salinity combine with fresh Granny Smith apple and shades of marzipan on the palate. This has wonderful length as this beautiful ‘Blanc de Blancs’ will cellar well over the next eight to ten years. Drink 2020-2028- 92 — 8 days ago
Beaujolais pleasure with the intensity usually found on Saint-Amour. Notes of sour cherry red fruits, rose, peony, and a certain concentration that will appeal to those who like more structured wines. It is nonetheless a generous wine with immediate pleasure. Very / too easy to drink
