Les Baronnes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

Not called Baroness anymore this mid level HB 2025 vintage is exploding out of the glass. Took a minute to get my bearings instead of restraint and editing it’s a full out cabaret of a wine with lively melon gooseberries and passion fruit on an edgy substrate of salinity and limestone. Went incredibly well with prosciutto and honeydew. Once I adjusted I found it magnificent. — 3 days ago

There are sizable missing gaps in the order I have posted wines in my timeline. Big gaps just missing. Feels like this app is finally headed to crashing.

@Somm David T, I’ve encountered situations where it doesn’t show ANY of my previous check-ins (maybe 5-6 times in the past 3 months), but usually I can exit the Delectable app and then return to it, and viola, the check-ins are there. I guess just another bug?

So many and they change constantly. Sad it has gotten this bad. It’s a good community.

Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2023

All of the grapes from the vineyards owned by the Latour family are vinified and aged in the cuverie of Château Corton Grancey in Aloxe-Corton. The winery was the first purpose-built cuverie in France and remains the oldest still-functioning. Medium pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits with a slight nutty floral character. On the palate flavors of peach and melon with lemon citrus and savory notes. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, toasty oak and minerality. Nice! — 7 days ago

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2008

Full golden color in the glass. It leads with dried pineapple and maybe dried apricot, with a lot of intensity on the nose. The palate confirms it, adding a slight spicy note with a surprising bit of phenolic grip and enough acidity to balance, though it has gone clearly past its prime. — a month ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Tasted blind. Medium deep garnet ruby and medium garnet ruby rim . Quite cool and restrained , again lots of grafite and mineral , dark fruits . This is quite deep and dark spicy cassis , blackberry and sea spray , saline . Quite dense and robust on the palate again , lots of fine but ripe tannins. Very long , dense , cassis , cedar grafite saline finish . This is a complete and great example of 2005 , great balance and enormous length , the longest of all on show here. Drinkable now , but surely it’s best days are in the future , wait another 5 -10 years , will last well a further 20 - 25 if not more . The apex of 2005 ? For me this had to be the Latour , and an archetypal example of Latour no less . 1st place and the gold medal . — a month ago
