Shake Ridge Ranch Syrah 2017

Give this some more years or a long decant. Tasted after 2, much better at 4 and the second day. — 3 months ago

Marchesi Antinori

Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2014

Marchesi Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG 2014: Elegant. Fresh. Flavorful. Cherry. Pomegranate. Tobacco. Menthol. Spice. Earth. Overall, a bit younger than I would usually desire however it still represents this Sangiovese classic top wine very well. Cheers🍷 — 3 months ago

Napa Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 1973

Sailin' away on the crest of a wave
It's like magic
Oh, rollin' and ridin' and slippin' and slidin'
It's magic
And you, and your sweet desire
You took me higher and higher, baby
It's a livin' thing
It's a terrible thing to lose
It's a given thing
What a terrible thing to lose

That song came out when that wine was released (76).I’ve been fortunate enough to have had that 1973. Kept the empty bottle for a few years before throwing it away. @Bobby Gilbane

@David L that’s an amazing coincidence. Was listening to this song when drinking the bottle and it resonated.

Melville

Estate Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2014

Last ‘14. In 1989, Melville Vineyards, was founded in Sonoma, where Ron Melville grew high quality, Chard, Merlot, and Cab Sauv. In 1996, Ron's desire to grow Pinot Noir brought Melville Vineyards to Lompoc's Sta. Rita Hills, in Santa Barbara County. Ruby with aromas of sweet red fruits and vivid spice. Flavors of raspberry and strawberry, currant like, adding cinnamon and leathery notes. Fine tannins, lingering ending with nice mouthfeel bringing back fruit and subtle spice. Aged well! Nice! — 5 months ago
