Refreshing, good fruit/mineral balance. — 16 days ago
Popped and poured; consumed over five hours. No formal notes. Big bottles and Musar are just a lovely pairing with the holidays and this 2016 “Hochar Pere et Fils” didn’t disappoint. Gorgeous old world aromatics with tart black fruits, rhubarb, pomegranate, horse blanket, clove, anise and earth with lovely structure. Balanced. Finish is super dry and earthy. Awesome with food. Last glass was best. Drink now with patience and through 2036. — a month ago
Notes of green apple, fresh cream, and that characteristic Kimmeridgian chalk that makes Chablis unique. Those flavors carry over into the mouth which has a perfect balance of light creaminess, acidity, and fruit. Bit of fresh-cut pineapple on the tongue. Very long, exquisite finish. — 24 days ago
Pours a dark crimson with no noticeable bricking or faded meniscus. Starts off with a clear menthol scent that thankfully receded. What emerges is wonderfully complex aromas. Layers of flavors and aromas emerge. Black cherry, pine needles, slightly smoky and herbal. This has structure for days. The acidity has always been prominent in this wine but it's finally starting to integrate. Tannins are firm but not intruding. What a wine and a joy to drink. I will drink my 2 remaining bottles in the next 5 yrs. — 18 days ago

Cherry dress, charming nose of the Burgundian PN between strawberry, cherry, mushroom, cloves; discreet breeding tip between vanilla and tobacco. In the mouth it is lively, with a mineral marker that imposes itself. Semi-Light body that comforts the breeding tannins. Chanson lays the foundations of Burgundy in what is most essential, magnifying the PN. Easy to drink, elegant. 2019 at its peak.
— 13 days ago
