Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour with friends while playing pool. The 2022 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of white tree flowers, mangosteen, dragon fruit, green apple, lanolin, and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is a bright and vibrant expression of Chenin Blanc and I’m here for it. Drink now to enjoy the energy and verve though, I’m sure this would age well too. — 2 years ago
Had with Tarley at Tavern on the Green - refreshing and really tasty 👌🏼 — 8 years ago
Green-amber colt lacing minutiae that mirrors Japanese calligraphy and the sea dragon. Nose, clean as green tomatoes, with an Italian bread component. Lemon poppyseed kuchen. Why does this one merit such a high score? It is the intangibles, a unique combination of mineral weight, superior ingredients, and finesse! Slick as a dagger! — 10 years ago
Puffy clouds float atop alpenglow orange opacity, lacing the barriers with the remains of heraldic coats of arms weathered nearly indistinguishable by time, like the thin anonymous gravestones in ancient churchyards. Orange and tangerine, clementine and thyme, ruby grapefruit, and candied lemon, Froot Loops, green grapes, dragon fruit and kiwi scented. Lovely lime and lemongrass, quince, cardamom pod, chamomile, white pepper dusted pineapple, pomelo, and steely minerality that fractures into micro clove and aniseed while immersed in lemon oils and orange. Really nice offering. Keeps you guessing and offers some interesting taste combos.

Falesco – Est! Est! Est!!! di Montefiascone “Le Pòggere” 2024
Montefiascone, Lazio, Italy 🇮🇹
Overview
A historic and legendary white from Lazio, crafted under the DOP classification. This blend, traditionally based on Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia Bianca, and Rosetto, carries a legacy dating back to the year 1100, when a bishop’s servant famously marked tavern doors with “Est!” (meaning “it is”) to signal the best local wine.
Aromas & Flavors
On the nose, it is floral and fruity, with notes of green apple, citrus zest, white peach, and wildflowers, underscored by light herbal nuances. The palate is refreshing and crisp, showcasing lemon peel, green melon, and delicate almond on the finish.
Mouthfeel
Light-bodied and zesty with a clean, mineral-driven structure. The bright acidity keeps it lively, while the subtle almond bitterness on the back end adds character and balance.
Winemaking Notes
Produced by Falesco (Famiglia Cotarella), one of the most respected wineries in Lazio. Stainless steel fermentation preserves purity, freshness, and aromatics, aligning with the classic style that has kept this DOC wine a regional staple for centuries.
Food Pairing
Perfect alongside grilled white fish, spaghetti alle vongole, light risotto, or fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and basil. Its crispness also makes it a great match for fried seafood or vegetable antipasti.
Verdict
A heritage-driven everyday white with historical charm and simple elegance. Casual, refreshing, and wallet-friendly, it’s a staple summer sipper with a story worth retelling at the table. — 2 months ago
