September 2023 sampling with chicken Coq au vin. — 11 days ago
So, a friend of ours bought a bottle of the 1998 vintage and kept it cellared for decades. He wrote on the back of the bottle his original tasting notes; honey, thick apricot, 94/100.
This weekend, we sampled it several times. It still seems to show notes of apricot, pear, honey, and a bit of botritus. A dark gold color and slightly onctuous mouth feel.
Frankly, it's not a big improvement from 25 years, but it's still a drinkable, semisweet wine. More like 89/100 at this point.
We had this wine with savory snacks and also with sweet desserts. I wish we had more friends sampling it, and I didn't still have some leftover in the bottle. — a month ago
Lovely 2018 Carneros Pinot Noir from Schug. Lots of dark cherry fruits, leather, mushrooms, and further complexity. — 15 days ago
delicious Beaujolais, rather burgundian.
I was so impressed that I sought out and bought a case of this wine. — 2 months ago
very quaffable and pleasing. Light color, fragrance of rhubarb, strawberry, mushroom, and tea. Rose petals, dried cherry
held up to a salmon dinner with grilled veggies and roasted potatoes — 2 months ago
gift bottle from friends, our first tasting of anything from Kerr Cellars.
An enjoyable Chardonnay, nicely nuanced, not too much oak. Apples and pears, a bit of butter scotch.
Served with cold chicken, potato, and mixed greens salad with a side of watermelon and French bread on a hot summer day. — 2 months ago
unusual white wine from Austria. dry, interesting, would buy again. I'm frustrated that the pictures of the bottle we had won't upload on the delectable site. It has a different label but seems to be the same wine. — 2 months ago
