Had good luck with Gilles recently. Amazing palate. Just unreal fruit and it’s everywhere! Just saturates with granite infused juicy, lip smacking insanity. So dazzlingly pure. Palate -elegant tropical fruit. Sort of this creamy tropical elegance.
Long elegant tropical finish.
As this opens it becomes much more elegant. Almost a tropical perfume.
An hour in this gets crazy. Tropical flower perfume. Insane. Oh my god. Like a walk in a rainforest filled with tropical fruits during a rainstorm with the rain aerating the first with tropical fruit and flower perfume. Elite aromatics. Jesus Christ good. Palate is elegant. Almost golden. With a bit more grip and density this would be even higher scoring. Internal aromatics are a thing of beauty. Papaya guava. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Showing really well, perfect lunchtime wine. Super aromatic, pungent, heady, very floral. White flower with a honeyed edge and a kiss of volatility. Flowers, quince, white raspberry and slate on the palate with a bruised apple finish. Lingers with a cidery impression. Love the balance of palate richness and nervy acids. Complex and delicious. Smells like 16 or 17. Gilles does not believe in putting vintages on labels. Or corks. I’ll say 17. Hay, pickled lemons, mineral, wild flowers, ripe something, maybe a minor tropical fruit. Really fine pointed minerality. This is 17. Acid is very very low. It’s rich, but man that low acid does not work. Good texture and length. Barely a 9.0.
