Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2019

This was more classic of the 19 vintage showing rich sappy dark fruit with nice spice, mineral, earth & floral notes. Great vintage for this wine. — 9 days ago

Private Reserve Georges de Latour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

100 points???…I don’t think so…but very nice. I bought at the Treasury employee store to celebrate the purchase of our home in Saint Helena. We closed on the last day of November and had dinner with our friends and new neighbors. Had side by side with the 2016 BV Private Reserve which I scored 95 points. — 2 days ago

Les Cras Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

Drinking the tail end of another dinner here. Almost two decades old and a day opened, yet still so youthful and powerful. Soared in the glass with aromas of black fruits, violets, and forest floor, along with some nuanced meaty and chalky notes. Powerful palate with massive fruit saturation and sultry texture, yet still manages to retain great energy courtesy of an underlying mineral spine and fresh acidity. Honestly really alluring at this stage, but it still promises so much more with time. It just had this sense of coiled energy despite its many harmonious elements. What a wine! — 23 days ago

Domaine Robert Chevillon

Vieilles Vignes Nuits-Saint-Georges Pinot Noir 2019

Tricky blind. No consensus on the table on its origin. I thought it was non-French. Reduction on the nose. Powerful and structured with almost glossy dark fruits.
Fruit-forward with some orange rind, meat, and chalk in the back end. A big Pinot, but with enough acid to bring about some juiciness. It was reminiscent of some of the more “elegant” Pinot’s of Australia if you ask me. This new style of Chevillon (more approachable?) really tripped me up.

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2020

Roumier's 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Village is currently in a heavily reductive phase. After two hours in the decanter, restrained aromas of ripe red cherries, raspberries, herbs and some wood smoke emerge. Medium bodied with ripe and almost powdery tannins, the wine is densely structured and will undoubtedly reward patience. Drink from 2025 until 2035. — 17 days ago
