I haven’t had a lot of experience with Napa Valley Chardonnay but this was most enjoyable. Rich and mouth filling, creamy. Stone fruit and almonds. Barb said white flowers on the nose. Apparently this was picked early and malolactic fermentation was blocked. Oak influence is totally integrated - balanced. I paid $147 AUD in Brisbane in September 2021. A lot dearer than what you might pay in the States I would guess. — a year ago
Mellower than expected with age. Might be a good balance a few years sooner with more oak. Still excellent and a wonderful treat. — 5 months ago
I started my visit to Opus one with this 2017 vintage.
On nose its peppery, spices, some tobacco, leather, Dried sweet fruit, Black Cherries
On palate, its so elegant. The Acidity and Tannins, its covers your mouthfeel yet sharp and warm Napa Style carbenet. Its Long, with well balanced Intensity. Surprised how 2017 can deliver this performance. CHEERS! — 9 months ago

Same notes as before but maybe a bit more exclamation. Fruit is rocking! Ripe black and blue fruit, sweet plums, coffee cake, sweet pipe tobacco. Really lovely mouthfeel. Drinking very well pnp, impressive amongst the 2017s. Gonna bump it up to 9.4. — 2 years ago

Very expressive nose. Not very tannic - only needed to open for about 20 min without decanting. — 2 months ago
