Deep ruby with aromas of dark fruit, sweet spice and herbs. On the palate of this mostly Cab Sauv with a splash of Merlot, sat on French oak for 18 months (about 1/3 new), flavors of rich and juicy cherry and blackberry with savory spice and integrated toasty oak that gives this medium+ length wine a satisfying finish. Artemis should keep well for at least another 5+ years.

Prune juice, rose petal and potting soil. Lots of integrated oak. A little upfront texture, mouthfeel of sweet fruit that fades quickly.

i don’t drink much California Cab but this is a very, very good bottle of wine. extremely well balanced, very elegant mouthfeel and has a little bit of old world style to it. nose is jammy fruit, pencil shavings and tobacco or tea leaf. palate is more fruit forward, purple/black fruit, a lot of the bordeaux tobacco flavor profile too. very nice.

A little air helps, but good fruit and smoothness typical of Stag’s reds. A solid reliable choice for a supper club steak.
