Auction wine. Broken cork. Again. Wine was at base of the neck. I think cakebread got a batch of bad corks. No wine into the cork and they all broke right at the end. Not sure how it affected the wine but it’s been a consistent issue

Wine exhibited some decent fruit but no real depth or grip. Very smooth and medium body but missing some power and complexity expected from this site.

It’s been 16 months since last bottle of this Gargiulo G Major 7. One of my early Napa favorites. Fruit is ripe and bountiful, dark red and black. Very nicely balanced, acidity is very much holding its own, tannins are soft yet still structured. Gravely, vanilla, licorice, pencil shavings. Nice finish. Opens up nicely in the glass. — a day ago

1 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A splendid dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: expressive notes of dark brambly fruit, currants, floral, milk chocolate, planting soil, and eucalyptus. Taste: silky, jammy mouthcoating wine with dark plum/cherry, earth, licorice, dark chocolate, and a long graphite/coffee ground finish. YUM! — 12 days ago

This has softened considerably since my last bottle several years ago. Nose is complex, with earth, cedar, cigar box, and an incense-like note. In the mouth, it’s rich but medium-bodied. The tannins that were so prominent a few years ago have significantly resolved. Entering (finally) its drinking window. — 25 days ago

This was crazy!!! 1hr+ decant. Dessert in a glass. Dark red/purple color. Candied blue and black fruit dominate. Hints of cedar and a touch of coffee on the end. Wow!! — 12 days ago
