Insanely young, however just needed to try this. Double decanted, but still pretty much an impenetrable fortress. The nose is completely intoxicating; molasses, caramelized brown sugar, fresh Madagascar vanilla bean. The palate explodes with black and purple fruits; black plum, cassis, Christmas spice cake, blackberry tart, crushed allspice, deep mineral rich soil, field stones. Finishes with awesome structure. Bury this in the cellar for at least 5 years, more like 10.

Others liked this better but I’m saying it had a slight raisin aftertaste to me which has shown up recently. I’m thinking to drink these quick but to be fair they have not been in a cold cellar so expected a faster age.

Ok, so this really could have waited - but pandemic, election, end of the world - why wait. Thomas brown and the team at Maybach have just created a consistent wine - smooth (even young), light tannins, velvety, cassis and coconut yet strong cedar on the nose. Oakville Napa - just incredible.

Time to check in on the 16, 😬😋
Still has some heat to it, but great nose makes up for it. 15 years left easy.

Wow!!! This is amazing... not at all tannic and very much drinkable right now.. great nose of dark fruits, cedar and vanilla!! Love this!
