Inky black/purple in color. Nose is almost jammy in its exuberant fruits. There's also a dust/rockiness to the nose. I was surprised how structured and tannic the palate was. This started to unfurl around 5 hours after opening and more dark fruits emerged.

It's everything you expect from the wine in Harlan's shadow. Quite impressive, but I feel the oak was overshadowing to match the hill. Absolutely amazing? yes. Life altering? Maybe.

1.5 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A magnificent deep dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: bold aromas of black fruit, floral, cedar, licorice, spice. Taste: smooth, juicy wine with black cherry, black currants, wet stones, licorice, earthy, chewy tannins and a medium plus little astringent finish.
