As close to perfection as can be..,, smooth, silken, 2-minute finish. Nose of ripe, preserved, wrinkled apples…complete, complex, hints of baking spices, lighter than anticipated, but packing that 80 proof wallop. I anticipate most of bottle will grace a cool winter evening in front of the fire for 2 couples! — 3 years ago
Holy Moses this is the stuff. All kinds of citrus and green walnut notes and whopping mineral assortment on the nose and in the mouth. Intense body and richness layered on electric beams of acid. Lots of dry extract. Whisper of sweetness on the finish. Finish just won’t let up, hangs in your mouth like lemon taffy. This wine is on fire right now; it’s like a world class orchestra that’s just tuned up. — 5 years ago
Pepprig smak med smak av blåbär. Fylligt lagom syra och strävhet. — 5 years ago
A bold cab, very dry with deep flavors. A 2018 bottle tastes as if it’s been aged for a decade. You will taste and smell pungent aromas of cherry and raspberry. Drink this one by the fire and share with a friend. One of the best quality wines you will find for being widely available — 6 years ago

So smooth but full bodied — 8 years ago
Clear, deep ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, cassis, and graphite; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of black cherries, blueberries, black cardamom and bell pepper with a long finish. This wine is complex and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 4 months ago
2015 is reporting for duty. Balanced with brighter fruit and acid with cassis, plums and pencil elements. One could drink this with a variety of meats, fowl and fish. This wine is locked and loaded and ready to fire. — 4 years ago
I'd still prefer wine after a dry run, but this whiskey sure did hit a spot. The balance and complexity of the Machir Bay is just undeniable, evident from the score achieved here. Fresh, zesty fruits are starkly juxtoposed with pastry-like nutty, creamy vanillin notes. The peat straddles the line between salinity and camp fire smoke. A rockstar finish that just lingers with sweet, malty flavour and a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper. Needs a little air to sort out some initial aggression, but once that settles, I felt nothing was out of place. Best entry-level Islay for me! 2019 bottling here. — 5 years ago
First candle lit dinner with Remi. JB and Ali got her down while Ali artfully cut and ate her steak with one hand. Also, the grill caught on fire, but JB saved the steaks at the perfect level of char. The spinach was delicious, and the dirt that Ali left on it from the farmers market will help tremendously with digestion. — 7 years ago
Great wine, taste is chocolate, oak wood and dark red fruit, very nice at meat and dessert, enjoyed at fire place. — 2 years ago
Nose was not showing much. Primarily plum, some cassis, earthy, mushroom, log fire, lots going on. Nice mouthfeel, medium finish. — 3 years ago
Very smooth, full bodied! — 4 years ago
This small winery’s top bottling, Fire Sign is a blend of CS, Syrah, and Zin, all estate grown. And it certainly is the best in terms of quality - though the Grenache bottling remains my favorite.
Cassis, plum, raspberry, vanilla, roasted coffee beans, light menthol and hint of leather. Soft gentle entry and the flavors then expands on the mid palate with additional nuances of herbes de Provence. Round acidity and polished tannins.
The 18’ is sleeker and more luscious than the 16’. — 5 years ago
Rust colored and red. Nose is berry liquor and cherry. Flavors are juicy and deep. Berry-cherry cobbler and licorices. Blood and fire. Dry and also jammy. Well cooked jams. A straight Cal-Italia Sang. I like the balance and grip. This is grear Italian style red! — 6 years ago

Big plum, blackberry, and dark cherry flavors. Black pepper. Plenty of zippiness. A bit of earthiness. Delicious with pizza. Excellent wine. — 3 months ago
