Very similar comments to the 2018. This is in the top echelon of Aussie Chardonnay. Just beautiful! 😍👌🏽👌🏽 — 2 months ago
Citrus blossom, white flowers, and talc as aromatics. On the palate, citrus, citric acid with a chalky texture. Very little TDN if any. A classic Australian dry Riesling still with a long life to develop tertiary characteristics. The following night a skerrick of peach becoming apparent on the palate. Most enjoyable. The Great southland a reliable terroir for Riesling. — 20 days ago
This is the 2nd rated Vasse Felix Chardonnay behind the world class Heytesbury and ahead of the amazing value Filius. This was my last 2017 having made no notes for the first two. Expresses everything which is great about Margaret River Chardonnay. Complexity without cost. Ripe grapefruit with a balanced creamy French oak note which is largely integrated at 7 years of age. More citrus than stone fruit - a little nectarine? Great QPR at $31 AUD. — a month ago
Sine Qua Non extended barrel age tasting.
Together with the Stockholm syndrome this was my WOTN.
All wines performed beautifully. It showed a consistent style throughout the line up with only nuanced differences.
The EBA cuvee's get an extended time in barrel. Typically 12 months extra if I'm correct. We selected bottles that had a bit of age / cellar time from our collections since these need time to show their full development potential.
Massively structured and a plethora of spices can be found in all cuvee's. High alcohol but all well integrated and balanced. Worth seeking out if you like the style. — a month ago
