This needed a little time to decant and open up. Plum, tobacco, vanilla, and raisins on the nose. A tasty balance of dark berry fruit, oak, and graphite on the palate. Nose is intensely mineral. Some herbs, some confectionary, some spice. Not much if any fruit. Nice aromatic depth and some decent complexity. Great clarity. Terrific palate. Gorgeous floral scents and white orchard fruit, the nose keeps giving with air and keeps opening up. A palate with so much class, finesse and elegance, fine and fresh, pure fruit, with a nicely balanced acidity, great length for this superb complete and classy wine.

Bouquin-Dupont Vieille Reserve Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne: Vibrant. Profound. Exhilarating. Comprised of 100% Chardonnay grapes and aged for an impressive 7 years sur lie (many of the world’s top Grand Cru Champagnes age for a similar length of time on the lees) this champagne displays rich & focused flavors and aromas. White peach, apricot, lime peel & kumquat to name a few. Overall, there’s an elegant intensity like no other in recent memory that I recall hence making this grand cru stunningly spot on. I believe I mentioned it before but this is such a great wine. This is like a good glass of Meursault. Full bodied and rich. Pairing so nice with ham, salcicio or figues.
