Salted orange peel. Butterscotch. Toasted nuts. Amaze balls. — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2012 Rosado pours pink/salmon color with medium viscosity and no signs of sediment or particles. On the nose, the wine is developing with Maraschino cherry, dried apricot, coconut, dill, vanilla, and walnut. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Brilliant, soulful stuff. My first experience with the 2012 vintage. I hope there are many more to come. Drink now with patience (maybe even a decant) and through 2037. — 5 months ago
Splash decanted directly before service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours out of red Solo cups. The 1981 Gran Reserva Blanco pours, a golden color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of Khalas dates, dried apricot, black lemon, almonds, toasted coconut and marshmallow. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is waxy. A cerebral wine and just lovely stuff. Well stored bottles have a long life yet left ahead. Drink now with patience and plenty of air and through 2051. — 8 months ago

A blend of mostly Tempranillo with Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, aged 5 years in American oak, deep Ruby red color with aromas of ripe fruits, spice and tobacco notes. On the palate flavors of plum, blueberry and ripe cherry with spice, tobacco and cedar notes. Fine big rustic tannins, long finish, savory ending with tobacco and leather notes. Nice! — 19 days ago
It’s been a few years since I last checked in to the 2011 vintage of LdH Viña Bosconia and, to my palate, time has been kind. This is far more balanced and open than my previous experience. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2011 pours a ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe cherry, dill, toasted coconut, leather, tobacco, dried earth and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Delicious. Drink now through 2036. — 2 months ago

Honey sweetness that's not overpowering, a round pleasing body with low acidity, perfect for dessert pairing or alone. — 4 years ago
There’s depth and “cut” to it that invites more comparisons to its Burgundy cousins than its German ones, so give it 30 minutes or so in a decanter before diving in: Serve it at a cool 60 degrees in Burgundy stems and you’ve got one of the most versatile reds for food one could possibly ask for. This will sing with a wide range of proteins, from salmon all the way up to beef, but I can’t resist an old-school Alsatian pairing—tarte flambée. Smoky bacon, creamy cheese, crisp crust…that’ll work for me! Enjoy! — 5 years ago
Very nice Pinot Gris. Very delicate with a touch sweetness. Went very well with fresh flounder. — 6 years ago

Really good bubbly — 6 years ago
You have to understand that not many wines ( well, that’s a bit bombastic) give me more pleasure consistently than this, the most recent release-2010! From Calabretta . Kinda like Lopez de Heredia meets Vallana, ie Nebbiolo, though it is Nerollo Macalese. Smoked, tar, roses, fine & integrated tannins on the palate- strong mid palate which in my imagination has gotten stronger with age. Super lithe and really ethereal body- light, light to medium body but gorgeous acid spine, strong presence. Not a light wine. Bought a case or so a while ago-I fear the day I am down to one. Touch of over the hill but still OK. Lost color. More for the geeks and aficionados - than the casual wine drinker. So this review is for you guys. — 4 days ago
