Thierry Allemand

Reynard Cornas Syrah 2009

2009 Allemand Horizontal. I absolutely love Allemand’s wines. Always a seamless combination of both elegance and power. Both the Chaillot and Reynard showed perfectly, with the Reynard a bit more concentrated and deep than the Chaillot. Both wines had superb intensity, focus and a wonderful texture with the signature liquid rock, violets, herbs and cassis of Allemand Cornas. Fantastic duo. — 7 days ago

Domaine des Roches Neuves (Thierry Germain)

L'Insolite Saumur Chenin Blanc 2015

Honey, brewed green tea, chamomile, ripe yellow pineapple and mango, juicy apricot, medicinal notes/petrol, slightly white pepper, bread dough, marmalade, precise chalky minerality (though I think it’s grown on limestone/schist?). Piercing high acidity, finishes tart and citrusy. Long finish. 😋 — 5 days ago

Les Cailles Irancy Pinot Noir 2013

Lyle Fass
9.2

Terrific aromas of brambly red cherries, wet earth, lovely spice and mineral. So fragrant. Awesome. Licorice and strawberry. So clearly defined. Juicy and light to medium bodied with vibrant early season cherry and ripe velvety tannins. Hint of rusticity on the finish lets you know this is Irancy. Excellent. — 10 days ago

Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2015

A bit restrained at first, then subtle sour cherries, hay, wet leaves, medium bodied, beautiful acidity, grows as the bottle empties. — 25 days ago

Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc

An organic Cabernet-Franc, all in freshness, on red fruits (strawberry) and blackcurrant. Very well vinified, the mouth is supple and very digestible. Easy to drink. Serve at 15 degrees as an aperitif.

Un cabernet-franc bio, tout en fraîcheur, sur les fruits rouges (fraise) et cassis. Très bien vinifié, la bouche est souple et très digeste. Facile à boire. Servir à 15 degrés dès l’apéritif.

Domaine Navarre (Thierry Navarre)

Vin de France Ribeyrenc

Love the Thierry Navarre Saint-Chinians, yet this was a fun change of pace. Bless these vignerons that keep oddball grape varieties alive. Light in body, high in acidity yet kind of darker plum and dried fruit character. — 7 days ago
