Les Caillerets Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

Very enjoyable. A little reductive but could be the desired style and I like it. — 5 days ago

Duende Gold Coast Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

Absolutely terrific pinot from Paul Lato (a redundant statement, I realize!). Beautiful nose of candied strawberries, maybe a hint of nutmeg. Perfectly balanced palate - really impressive, actually, suggesting to me this is the absolute perfect time to drink this wine. Elegant, silky finish. Just great. — 11 days ago

Domaine de Thalabert Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

2017 vintage. Much more depth and complexity compared to the 2014 I had lately. Very dark cherries, spices and a hint of leather. In the mouth layers of black cherry and amarena cherries, a slight jamminess balanced by good acidity. Retronasal amerana cherries. Very good length. The benchmark wine for Crozes-Hermitage. Highly recommended. 29 euro. Abv. 13,5%. — 8 days ago

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018

9.0

Roulot/Colin-Morey/Piuze school of high acidity/minerality and minimum oak influence. The 2018 vintage has less fruit but feels purer and finer than the 2017. Better than most 30 dollar Bourgogne Blanc’s that are either too austere or too oaky. Almost hits the target but not quite spot on, and maybe too subtle for most people. — 24 days ago

Boogie Nights Larner Vineyard Malvasia Bianca 2019

Wow. This is a terrific white from Paul Lato. Super crisp on the palate, but with beautiful aromas of white flowers, maybe some green apple. Despite the tartness initially, the wine really billows across the palate into a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Lingering finish. This is NOT reminiscent of anything from Collio Orientali - it is pure California - but it’s excellent. Highly recommend. — 19 days ago

Actually, Dave, it turns out that was just a 13.5% EtOH/H2O solution. Tasted really good, though!

Paul Hobbs

Hyde Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012

8years old and still fruit forward Muted nose early, but came around. Palate was ripe with raspberry compote was a strawberry licorice and white pepper finish. Sweet tannins and medium acidity. This will start to degrade over the next few years. Great Pinot — 2 days ago

For those that like a bolder Pinot Noir.

Stands up well to a dish with some heat.
