Blind I would not have guessed pommard. Much more on the elegant side. This really needed 60-90 minutes for the palate to come around. Then it was brilliant.
Nose was intensely floral and perfumed off the bat. Beautiful.
Palate was so silky and refined.
A crazy value for village pommard. Even with tariffs.

Lovely and interesting 100% Chardonnay Champagne from a small producer. Aged in oak barrels lending aromas and flavors of vanilla, toasted brioche, toffee, and warm spices. More yellow than a typical Champagne due to the oak aging. A very interesting aperitif! — 6 days ago
Light color. Nice and elegnt nose of red fruits, soft apices and grapefruit. The palate is medium bodied with still a good structure but in the background it seems, my only caveat is the fruit that seems lacking ripeness slightly at times given probably the vintage, but overall always a great classy bottle.

Same lot as my last btl. Another excellent showing. On the nose: dark cranberry, raspberry, lemon and slate, with a soft coppery touch. On the palate: fantastic acidity, good richness, but lovely cranberry and lemon with mineral overtones. Dark on the finish, which has excellent density. Mousse is coarser than I remember, especially at first, but better with air. — 6 days ago
Oh so wonderful and so so classic. Stony nose. Like mega stones. Gorgeous mid season cherry. Hint of licorice. Lipstick like intensity. Haunting, ethereal. So good. Palate has just amazing fruit but needs 2 hours to get there. Unreal fruit soak, so fresh, such lift, velvety and sweet tannins. Terrific persistence and complexity. Needs a decade to get really Rugiens but so so fine. — 23 days ago
Don’t let it be known but Aligote is the great understated wine of Burgundy. Let’s keep it amongst ourselves so the price stays reasonable! Tempted to give it a 9. Cracking stuff. Better than the Comte Armand. — 4 days ago
Wow, now this is just gorgeous. Nose is actually more reminiscent of a BdB with lots of cream, toffee, NYC street nutz, stone fruit, apple. Lots of complexity. Palate has tons of ripe cherry and berry fruit, lots of tiny bubbles, and finishes long with more red fruits and acid. Lovely. — 20 days ago
Vieux Donjon 2010
— 20 days ago
Can't go wrong with this. Appealing nose of smoke, dark fruit, chocolate, plum cake, and mocha. Robust wine with robust alcohol levels. Darker chocolate notes over a cherry backbone. Well-integrated acids and smooth tannins keep this wine from being too flabby. Unfiltered, which shows in each pour. Great wine. — 11 days ago
Side by side 2009 Volnay Clos des Chene. Interesting test. The Lafarge was rounder and softer and very typical Volnay. Elegant. Claudine’s wine had a few more angles and edges but also terrific. Will do this again in 10 years. I loved both wines. — 20 days ago
