Fleurie Gamay 2015

Lots of barnyard on the nose but red fruit on the palette. Overall, soft and smooth and pretty. Drinking properly in this vintage. For me. — 9 days ago

Heritage Chablis Chardonnay 2014

Lyle Fass

A brilliant value and brilliant bottle of Chablis. Wide open. What a nose. Deep mineral. Lime pith. Airy. Saline. Seashells. Palate is nervous and tensile with great purity and texture. Almost no fruit. Salty. Good structure and acidity. Such snap, sap and length on this wine. Amazingly well made. Easily 1er Cru quality. So juicy, so dense, so pure. Brilliant. — 6 days ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay 2015

Continuing my Gamay journey. This is more complex and rich and structured than some others from the region. Very nice indeed. — 8 days ago

Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard

Sous Frétille Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

The minerality and acidity leaps out of the glass. I love the 14 white burgs. Deep lemon-oil drenched wet Burgundian rocky gravel. Intense and minerally in the mouth. Chiseled, not an ounce of flab. Long clingy finish. Really fine. — 2 days ago

“Oeil de Perdrix” Champagne Blend

This bottle wasn’t singing it’s apparently normal tune of wonderment. A good Champagne but it lacked some complexity normally seen — a day ago

Bonnie Jean Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

Pure, fresh brambly berries with elegant finesse. Just enough grip & spice to add complexity textures and flavors. A little orange peel & black tea come through on the nose and return on the back end of the palate. Not the most well known vineyard, but one which certainly delivers here. — 17 days ago

Schoenenbourg Alsace Grand Cru Riesling 2016

Fucking Delectable. Ate my first submission. Take 2. Nose shows cracked stones, a bit of petrol, and yellow apple skin fruit. Mouth is weightier than the nose suggests. Intense. Loads of minerality. Energized with minerality and pretty good acidity. Long, lip smacking finish. Really fine. — 10 days ago

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

Hermitage Syrah 1997

Reddish tawny and modestly translucent. Earthy herbal nose. Notes of cool slate stone, cranberries, black earth. Rich fruit. Silky and seductive. Coats the mouth with fruit and still present acidity/structure. Very good. — 12 days ago
