Domaine Denis Bachelet

Domaine Dujac

Morey Saint Denis Pinot Noir 2005

Dark scarlet color, almost opaque. Powerful nose. Notes of black fruit, spice, dark soil, iron and some sois bois. Rich and deeply penetrating in the mouth. Mouth puckering finish. I have to say Wow, because this is my first sip of an 05 Dujac since tasting at the Domain years ago when we got to sample the 05 lineup. All I can say is if this is their Village bottling, the 1ers and GCs are going to be off the charts! Even this MSD is going to be a rock star with 5 more years on its side. — 7 days ago

Les Ruchots Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2019

Balanced Morey style. Fruit is a mix of red and dark, there’s a salinity to the nose and a mineral backbone, new oak there but barely noticeable, works well with the florals. Nice tannins and persistence on the palate. — 7 days ago

Côte de Nuits-Villages Pinot Noir

Really expressive nose of lilacs, sour cherry, cloves. Fairly bold on the palate for Côtes Nuits Villages. — 14 days ago

Nose is classic seashells. Some richness.

Palate is dense apple fruit. Intensely mineral. Wow.

Bought from fass selections.

Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is showing a little reduction on the nose; there’s some charry oak here, not quite as clean as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine balance and finer tannins than Taupenot-Merme's La Riotte. This shows impressive delineation and elegance toward the finish, which is persistent and satisfying. An excellent Morey-Saint-Denis. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. Domaine du Clos de Tart

Monopole Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1996

Decanted for 5 hours. Tawny and a bit translucent in the glass. The nose is outstanding. Has “the funk”. While nice and palate coating in the mouth, I could sit and smell this all night. Nice to see a 96 have enough fruit to last long enough to see the acidity mellow so that the balance is even. I think these are ready to go, finally. — 24 days ago

I love 'the funk' when it appears in Burgundy 😉

Such awesome full body Gevrey fruit - ripe raspberries, sweet black cherries, undergrowth, sandalwood, game. Masculine musk in the nose. Nice concentration and structure but the finish is a little short. — 14 days ago
