Just opened and poured and tasted, the bouquet was strong dark fruit with floral notes. Still a dark red with no visible signs of being 10 years old. Full mouth, delicious, really impressive again! — 2 months ago
This is an accidental pour... I wanted to open one other Robert Weil erste lage Riesling trocken wine and didn't pay enough attention... well, this is probably much too young, but we like it anyway! The nose is slightly muted with lemon skin, a petroly thing, rose petals, elder flower, a touch of vanilla. Wow this is a bit unusual when compared to the usual german Riesling numbers I am used to. There is almost a tiny strawberry jogurt touch too. The palate is showing a great acid drive, some massive width, some grip all along, lemon zest, lemon juice, that same jogurty note all along... The finish starts with a massive, spherical, mid palate that powers up a real massive complex finish with lemon peel, strawberry jogurt that goes on for almost a minute. This is probably too young but this is a monster of a wine too. Hat's off! — a month ago
Have not had in 3.5 years and wow this is drinking so well. A superstar. Nose is all wet earth, decay, sweet spices and macerated cherries. Palate is a wonder of juicy cherry fruit, freshness and layered complexity. Dead leaves, buoyant acidity and a long, lingering finish. Needs some time to open but man is this great out of the bottle. As this airs the palate complexity is so compelling. The tannins are so oh so fine. This after many hours was so elegant and fine. Meaty and pure. This is drinking perfectly now after an hour open. — 2 months ago
Been a minute with this wine and wow it’s so just what I needed. Grapefruit, greengage, sage, herbs, lime zest and a deep wet rock mineral background. Serious and playful. Palate is just stunning. Deep, resonant and fresh with awesome structure and juiciness. Sweet herbal flavors, grapefruit and some lime zest round out the complex and super zesty finish. This is so succulent, deep and elegant. Very impressed. — 2 months ago
