Simply delicious Burg! Light colored. Intriguing and attractive nose of forest floor red berries and an interesting mysterious note of woodsy perfume of some kind carrying through to a liveliness and dancing texture. More pure pleasure than the complexity and depth folks chase after. Excellent finish to cap it off. Hard to find. Hopefully another bottle left. Yum. What a GL 29 buy back then! A traditionally made wine, 50 barrels with no sulfur. Gardener than farmer as DR says! — 5 years ago
Berry taste but not tart. Very light acidity with an exceptional finish. Delicious wine! — 6 years ago
Nice flavor. Jammy with hints of fruit. Blackberry maybe. — 6 years ago
A restrained nose with some camphor, pencil lead, and dried oregano....the palate jumps up with dark, muddled fruit, white pepper, and a kirsch liquor dancing in the background....moderate tannins show up with the slowly evolving finish...these a raf zins rarely disappoint.... — 7 years ago
Light and easy drinking rosé. Great fruity flavors, great with a meal or by itself. Will definitely buy more. — 4 years ago
This is so yummy. I would definitely buy again. Great with pasta and hard cheese. — 5 years ago
Dense, with much of everything. Acidity, fruit and a bit of tannins begging for a handful of years in the cellar. Dancing on the edge of mousiness though, hope it sorts out over a year or two. — 5 years ago
Light amber with a bouquet of stone fruits with citrus notes and yeasty tones. Plenty of bubbles dancing in the flute. Crisp and fresh, mineral, white flesh fruit, citrus well balanced with acidity. Lingering finish with zesty ending. Nice Grand Cru. Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago
Color of grayish purple, quite clear with a bit orange note. Nose is balanced fragrance with dried strawberry, spice, tobacco leaves, cured meat, and more sweet berries. Taste is light, and follows the nose, right amount of acidity and tannins, zest, just a bit sweetness shows her subtlety, more cured meaty note dancing with the berry note. Aftertaste shows backbone of tannins, medium long with savory spice, acidity and sweetness. Pretty good. — 7 years ago
Didn’t really pop and express itself until about 1 hour in the glass but then it was quite good — 7 months ago
Sweet, nice spices. Slight dryness but not much. Pleasant, berry aftertaste. Very aromatic, maybe too much. Nice pairing with an earthy or savory meal. — 5 years ago
2016 vintage. Light/delicate body but plenty of color that brings a requisite amount of punch. Nose a little hot. Big-time Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip ice cream flavor dancing throughout the palate. Elegant, lengthy finish with the dancer adding a partnering hint of dill. — 5 years ago
WOTN - I was impressed - besides always being a crowd pleaser this wine always acts like the postman and always delivers
1 hour decant - was not planning to open but we drank the other bottles like thirsty sailors after 90 days on the boat - color has not changed - the smell has gotten even better - the finish was spot on and the taste was impeccable- remarkable- memorable- a true stunner - blue fruits dancing with black and reds fruits - tobacco cassis sweetness from caramel- tamed but striking how this baby keeps growing - drink now if you want but I will not try again for 5 years or more - this Napa cult classic will last 10 years plus and seems to find a way to get better - bravo — 6 years ago
