Crissante Alessandria

La Scolca

Bianco Secco Cortese 2021

Gavi comes from small growing area in northwestern Italy located north of Genoa on steep slopes of Ligurian Apennines. White label is La Scolca’s everyday wine, an alternative to their “Black Label”. From Cortese di Gavi grape (younger vines), pale yellow color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, extended lees aging. On the palate flavors of apple and lemon, nutty notes, nice mouthfeel. Medium finish, vivid acidity ending with a mineral character. Nice! — 2 days ago

Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso 2022

Some buzz around this producer so approached with some anticipation. Restrained white flowers & confectionery Turkish delights on nose; mouthfeel quite smooth & elegant, w a stronger Riesling & Chenin Blanc presence, more of those white flowers & some RS. I’ve aged some other producers Timorasso w excellent results so see no reason this can’t do same, but this is drinking well young too. — 3 days ago

This wine gets better every year and still shows the vintage. It's still a lower tier 1 or upper tier 2 Timorasso, but it IS very accessible. — 11 days ago

Bob….Congrats.
You have found a great wine from an incredible producer.
They also makes a white wine from Favorita grapes which have been genetically linked to Vermentino.
I love drinking it.
