Ingen standard beaujolais. Påminner mer om en cote d’or med bra struktur, röd frukt, bra syra och en hel del tanniner. — 5 years ago
Fresh raspberry, cherry, mineral and violet notes on the nose. Bright acidity and crunchy tannins. Leaner and more angular than the Côte Du Py but still silky. Wish I would’ve held on to it longer as the finish was a bit disappointing. Will improve with age. — 6 years ago

The fruit for “Pi” is sourced from Foillard’s oldest vines on Côte du Py. These vines are believe to be more than 100 years old. Popped an poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2014 “Pi” pours a deep ruby/purple color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of funky dark fruit: black cherry, purple flowers, a whiff of horse blanket, sous bois and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Beautiful stuff. Drink now through 2039. — 2 months ago

Purple dress, of medium intensity.
The nose is inviting: black cherry, morello cherry, herbaceous and peppery notes. In the mouth the attack is fresh, the body is of a beautiful all-airborne concentration. The tannins are fine and concentrated. It is very fine and juicy as it is with a beautiful mineral structure that underlies an ageing potential not yet reached. A Morgon as we like it.
— 3 years ago
Surprisingly heavy but quite nice. — 6 years ago

Very nice choice by the Sommelier at Pastis in Nashville to pair with both grilled Branzino and Boeuf Bourguignon. (I know.). Bright, a bit astringent, fruit forward, with some structure but not too much. — 3 months ago
Another nice Cote du Py Morgon I tried recently, a tad more austere than some other similar examples from the region but still a nice wine for the price! — 5 months ago

Black cherry and curant, just enough bite in the back. — 5 years ago
Not as brilliant for me as the JMB 2015 or 2016 cote du py but lovely wine still. Bright but stewy cranberry sauce and cherries dominate when opened. Same/similar lush purple color as more recent years. Med body. Med+ acidity. Lacked a nice tannic bit until 30-45 mins in decanter. Then it became more complex and showed a mild but enjoyable and long lasting dry effect. Recommended experience for cru Beaujolais fans but noticeably lagged the ‘15 and ‘16 for me. — 7 years ago
