Ok, not the best. First sip has a metallic taste. Better after it breathes a bit. Sept 2026 — 2 days ago
Lunch with dad and Luigi. Such a great wine, first time trying it. Ton of sediment. Beautiful red fruits, very light bodied, loved it. — a month ago
Opened three days earlier. The 2023 pours a deep ruby/purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe brambles, lavender pastilles, bacon fat, black pepper, and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A delightful pairing with Bison ribeye. Young but showing its potential. Drink now through 2043. — 2 months ago
This is an unusual CdP. In the sense that is is dark, thick and like chocolate for water.
My first of three bottles.
The nose shows a very light flaw, some soft VA, bandaid. The core is all dark currants, candied, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, both plums-heavier black, black raspberries, hints of raspberries & wafting strawberries. Chocolate cake w/ fudge frosting, incense, black pepper, black coffee, anise to black licorice, grilled meats, crushed rocks, lime-sandstone, dry herbs with floral candied dark, red flowers with liquid violets wrapped in lavender.
The palate reveals; dark currants, candied, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, both plums-heavier black, black raspberries, hints of raspberries, some pomegranate & wafting strawberries. Chocolate cake w/ fudge frosting, caramel, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanillin, incense, Christmas cake, red & dark cola, olive tapenade, black pepper, black coffee, anise to black licorice, smoke, grilled meats, soy sauce, crushed rocks, lime-sandstone, moist clay, dry herbs with dark, gentle dark spices, red& dark flowers with candied liquid violets wrapped in the same candied lavender, grand, round, rainfall acidity w/ a rich, lush, well balanced, nicely toned/structured, elegant finish that shows length that lasts 90-120 seconds and falls on chocolate cake, clay & spice.
Untypical for a CdP to be so thick, round, rich and a bit of wine candy.
93-95 with the meal.
Drink over the next 7-10 yrs and perhaps a couple to three yrs +. Greatly depends on storage and how you like your wines in age. — 2 months ago

Deep inky in color with a short reddish/ purplish rim.
Strong nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Showing black currants, black plums, blackberries, dried figs, dark chocolates, raisins, peppercorn, licorice, light earth, herbs, light tar, tobacco leaf and light barnyard.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 22 year old Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich and fruit forward, very complex and entertaining. A fantastic wine.
Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to do so in the next 5 years.
Wine Spectator 93 points. Wine Advocate 97 points.
The high alcohol is well integrated by now.
Elegant, and a great sipping wine. Paired beautifully with my delicious American Wagyu steak.
A blend of 59% cabernet sauvignon, 22% merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Unfiltered and unfined.
15.6% alcohol by volume.

Very good. June 2025 — 2 days ago
Super Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Cabernet Franc (29%) and Merlot (13%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red and black fruit, anise, purple flowers and leather. Flavors of black cherry/plum/berry fruit, black licorice, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices. Lovely mineral and minty tones on the long and lingering finish. Silky tannins and a velvety texture. Loaded with finesse and wonderful freshness. Enjoyed with Petey and Kase (Thanks Guys) on the beach in Cape May, NJ. — a month ago
At Stubborn Seed in Vegas — 2 months ago
Beautiful, whip-smart Northern Rhône Syrah with blackberry, violets, granite and, after air, a gorgeous olive note running through both the nose and palate. The texture is sleek and refined, with excellent freshness, fine tannins and a long, elegant finish. Not quite as complete or tightly composed as the monumental 2019, but still an exceptional Gonon and a brilliant expression of the vintage. — 3 months ago
